Daffodils (Narcissus) are a perennial Spring flowering bulb.

They can start flowering from late February – April.
There are many varieties of daffodils and narcissus.

The common daffodil has one yellow flower (with six petals and a cup in the centre of the flower head) on a long green stem with long, thin leaves.

Some varieties have more than one flower on the stem.

The flowers can have yellow or cream petals and yellow, cream or orange cups.

The plants can grow to a height of 3 inches to 2 foot.

Daffodils should be planted between August and September at a depth of 4-7 inches.
They thrive in full sun or partial shade and like well drained soil.

Daffodils look great when planted in borders, containers or grassland.
