School Gardening Club

Last week the gardening club was rained off, but today was fine and 40 children and 2 teachers managed to plant 82 garlic plants! Not bad going for 30 minutes work.

Two weeks ago the children busily planted lots of carrots and sunflower seeds. Today the children were very keen and eager to see if their seeds had germinated. I am pleased to say that some of the seeds have germinated, so it looks like we will have entries for the longest carrot competition and the tallest sunflower competition.

Next week we will plant some radish and lettuce seeds and pot on some radish and lettuce seedlings that I have already started off in my greenhouse.
