I love growing sunflowers as they are such a cheerful flower and they remind me of my wedding. We placed little boxes on the tables for the guests with sunflower seeds inside and it was great to hear from our friends and family after the wedding to find out how the seeds had got on.
This year I have been growing sunflowers with my school gardening club and their tallest plant is 68cm.
The sunflowers in my garden are getting quite tall now and the tallest is 147cm from the bottom of the stem to the tip of the petal.
If any of you are growing sunflowers I would love to hear how tall they are – I may even produce a certificate for the tallest sunflower owner, so get measuring today and then leave a comment letting me know how tall your sunflower is.
If you want to grow sunflowers then Thompson & Morgan supply sunflower seeds.

Aren’t you lucky to have volunteer sunflowers. It sounds like the challenge is on to see whose is the tallest by August! Thanks for commenting and letting me know the height of your sunflowers.

I have enjoyed your sunflower pictures. I am thrilled to have discovered a sunflower in amongst the raspberries, today. It is only 52cm high, but I hope it will flower.

Pleased that you have found a lovely sunflower and have measured it too. Now that the sun is out it may grow even taller.
