What shall I do with my damsons?
What shall I do with my damsons?
What shall I do with my damsons,
I have a few damsons on the tree that my parent’s bought for Steve and our good friends Cherie and Neil brought us a bag of damsons when they came to tea the other night. Thanks all of you.
I was just wondering what to do with them. Do I make jam, chutney, wine, crumble?
If anyone has any good ideas and easy recipes then I would love to hear from you.
I have been trawling through yours today. RE damsons…make a little of each, if you have plenty…variety is the spice of life 🙂
Loved the story of the pig’s tail! Alice’s story was great too. I was transported back in time. I remember the scene so well from my youth.
What an interesting read 🙂

Thanks for the excellent suggestion.

Absolutely delicious! And if you have any leftover, make some jam. 🙂

Damson gin sounds good. I have made sloe gin before but not damson. The Cottage Smallholder is a fabulous site for lots of great recipes. I have even had the privilege of tasting their jams and chutneys as we took part in the interblog guinea fowl project together.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

I’ve just been given a huge basket of damsons from a friend. I was only going to make jam, but after seeing all the delectable recipes here I wish I had more damsons so I could try them all!
Happy cooking…
