Barn Owl Hunting

At about 5pm tonight I saw a barn owl flying across our neighbouring field then over the lane and into another field. The barn owl was hunting. The bird flew along the ditches and hedgerows and then at times hovered and then swooped down.

I did have my camera and got one photograph of the barn owl flying across the field but it was from a distance and I wasn’t quick enough to be zoomed right in. Have you seen any barn owls hunting lately or have you taken any good photos of barn owls that you would like to share, if so leave a comment and I’ll get in touch with you about sharing your photos.

  1. Hi Topveg,
I have read that the barn owls breeding season is between March and October and incubation takes 30-34 days. I wonder if it is too early for them to be feeding their young just yet.
Thanks for dropping by and commenting.
    Kind regards

  2. Hi Sara

great photo! Yes. I saw a barn owl hunting yesterday afternoon – I wondered if it was feeding young as it was very busy -do you know when they hatch?
