Dave is a member of the farmingfriends forum and Dave has just joined our forum community as he and his son are awaiting the arrival of a pair of call ducks.  This photograph is of a heron at Esthwaite in Cumbria. I have never seen a heron in the wild like this, so thanks for sharing Dave.

Wild Mallard Duckling Up Close, Photograph Taken By Ken

Praying Mantis Catches Bee Photos Sent In By Mama

Deer Resting In The TopVeg Garden

Hebridean Ewe Photo Taken By Sheila

Sheila sent the photo and said, “I am sending a photo taken last April 2009 in Argyll Scotland. I found one of my Hebridean ewes sleeping in the early morning on a white line of the newly marked out shinty pitch, she had 7 acres to pick from! By chance I had my camera.” Sheila

I am going to have a look at all the photos I have taken lately of the countryside around here and see if any fit in with the theme of wild and wonderful. You can enter up to four photos so I think I will try to enter two with wildlife subjects and two of the Yorkshire landscape.
