Common Mallow
The common mallow is a wildflower.
The Latin name is Malva sylvestris.
The flowers grow on short stems although the plant can grow to 80 cm tall.
The petals are bright purplish pink and form in clusters.
Each flower has five petals which all have a u shaped notch at the tip of the petal.
The petals also have darker purple stripes on them.
The leaves have five triangular points.
The common mallow flowers from May to September.
This wildflower grows on wasteland, roadsides, meadows and fields.
The common mallow is found growing in most of Western Europe, Southern England and worldwide.
