Hi, I would agree with Mo that you get a replacement male duck of the same breed or size as your female, he will be able to deter the moscovies better than you, or advertise the moscovies to see if anyone else will take them on.
The large shell-less egg is probably caused by her stress from losing her partner.
Good luck.
Sarah

so sorry you lost your drake, the large egg maybe nothing to do with the muskovy, one of my khaki ducks went through the same thing you are explaining with a huge egg, and regulary lays big double yolkers, sometimes it just happens,
I'm not sure how you are going to stop the wild pair from visiting, if you really don't want them in your yard, all I can say is you will have to try and make them think its not a nice place to be, can you chase them away, be a bit scarey with them, and try and make sure they get no food and water when they visit
perhaps if you get a new drake for Quackers this would help as well, as for the chicken eating the egg, it did it just because it could,

I have one female duck and six hens. My male duck was killed a few weeks ago by a hawk. There are a pair of Muscovy ducks that visit my yard every day. The Muskovy drake appears to be attracted to my female duck. I do not want the Muscovy's but do not know how to get rid of them. My female duck, Quackers, seemed sick today, always laying down everytime she reached a bush or tree. Later today, she was waddling towards the lake and laid a huge egg with a very thin shell. As soon as she laid it, one of my hens pecked around on it and broke it open. Could the egg have been a Muskovy egg mix? Was it too large for her? Why did my hen peck it open? How can I get rid of the Muskovy pair? Help please ASAP
