Can anyone help I am new to goose keeping having just rescued a gosling. He / she has settled in well sharing the garden with my three hens.But this morning when I let Henry out his wings were turned out!He is just getting his feathers. Any advice would be great. Also he seems happy with the hens and also is attached to my two dogs will that be ok or should I get another one,

As long as the gosling is happy don't do anything yet . How did you rescue it . As for the wing can you send a pic as I have geese and goslings and did think one of mine had a wing problem but it has not .Do you know how old it is . Regards Mama

Thanks for the help. Not sure of his age he did not have any feathers when I got him which was three weeks ago from a local market and he is almost feathered now. His wing problem is Angel wing so am going to have a go at strapping it!

Hi, it does sound like it probably is angel wing and the earlier you do it the quicker the result. You may have to have one or two attempts to make it secure and comfortable for the little chap. I think Lisa's attempts with her duckling's angel wing proved quite successful.
There shouldnt be a problem with him attaching himself to your dogs but you may want to think about another goose for "goose" chatter and companionship.

Well he was very good and is still wearing his strapping so will keep you posted on how succesfull it is.We have bought him a paddling pool so he can have a good wash when I take it off!
