Hi all. I had a poorly Lucy yesterday. All that know me and my ducks will know she hasnt been laying properly since the arrival of the new ducklings and her eggs have been misshapen and malformed inside. I was quite worried about her yesterday as she was walking very slowly and not her usual happy confident self. She kept lying down away from the others and she's normally one of the first up for back door food, but she didnt come at all. I suspected lots of things but convinced myself she was probably egg bound.
I let them all out this morning and expected to see her lagging at the back but instead, she came out with her group and when I checked in the shed, she had laid an enormous egg and she is so small poor girl. I suspect it might be a double yolk from its length and she last laid about 3-4 days ago.
So all looks well with her today and she appears ready for action.

Steve had a mishapen one of hers yesterday and the yolk was quite runny and very large, It tasted ok but he said the texture of his omlette was strange.
