Right, I have managed to keep them alive in this freezing uk weather, I now have them in a heated rabbit hutch in the greenhouse at around 15 degrees, they are doing well and eating and putting on weight and growing more adult plumage.
But my dilemma now is when to put them out and how to harden them off to the weather, my plan is to get a larger hutch/small chicken house for them to be outside in until they are more mature in the spring, (I know I've done this hatching at the wrong time of year, but I wasn't expecting it to be this cold)
Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer as I don't want it to go wrong after getting so far with them.
    Many thanks

  2. Hi Sarah,

Here's a link about raising guinea fowl between 6 and 8 weeks. http://farmingfriends.com/raising-guinea-fowl-from-6-to-8-weeks-old/

My guinea fowl do not like snow so if you are going to harden them off I wouldn't let them go anywhere near snow patches, my guinea fowl don't like to walk on it and will fly into the trees and won't come down until the snow has gone!

They will need the heat for longer than they would normally if they had hatched in the Spring.

Good luck and glad they are progressing well.
    Kind regards
