Khaki Campbells mating

Hi all.... I have four khaki campbells, 2 that have been laying for a while and one that has just started. All have the same tails (not curled up) so I am assuming they are all girls. I have just been watching them in the pond and they were bobbing their heads as they did when we had a drake, and then one of the ducks was on top of the other, and then another took a quick turn.
Is this normal behaviour for all female ducks, or do not all drakes have the turned up tails and therefore I have a boy in the gang?!!
    thanks... Karen

Hi Karen. Don't worry, my girls do it too. It's the time of year and they have started mating in earnest now. Everyone's hormones are high that's all.

my campbell daisy mates with jemima my big white aylesbury type duck!! i think its because daisy is dominant female in the group. they seem to enjoy themselves!!

Well, good for them then! Glad they are having fun together without a boy to spoil it... will take a photo of all the chickens and ducks and try and post it on here. Thanks for all the reassurance and stories! (Perhaps yours are a bit shy Mo!!)

    Hi Karen,
I find this funny as 2 of my biggest ducks do this as well and Jonathan stands beside them now not bothering, it is really funny. He tends to mate with one of the runners.

Also Colleen my biggest KC does this to the other ducks as well, she definitly would be the most dominanat female, but she has got more queit otherwise and she lets me lift her up and cuddle her when she is in her house,I must admit she is a favourite of mine now. The others are more wild than her.

    Regards
    Lorna.
