    Hello Mo,
Unfortunately the news is not so good now. Jill had been sitting 3 eggs and just one has came out tonight. I went out there not so long ago and the other one who was nearly out was silent and it had died. There is one that is out now probably about and hour or so ago, I had it on heat pad a while and heat lamp over it as well, it is chirping well so hopefully it will be OK. I am a bit gutted indeed but looking at it this way at least there is one. I am watching it constantly I hope it makes it through the night. I did not want to say anything before just until I saw how things went.
I have given it a little drop of poultry drops, hopefully that will help it. There was a little bit of yolk atached but it is dried out now.

I checked the third egg beofre Jill went back on nest and as I suspected the duckling had died in it maybe a week ago, I suspected it was not right when I candled it at the weekend.

    Anyway

    Regards
    Lorna

Hi Lorna, sorry you have lost two but I wonder why you have taken the one that hatched away from Jill? Surely she will stand a better chance of survival with her mother and Jill may be distressed.

    Hi Ladies
Thanks for the messages. The wee duckling is cuddled up to a soft toy now and so much stronger, I think it will be fine. I was just sad that it did not have a little mate.

I took the duckling and put it under the heat as that is the only way for it, I lost one before of Gingers which she had and I like them under the heat where I can see all going on. Jill hissed at it and did not want to know and I would not trust her with it. I brought her back in to see it but I will be letting it run with her eventually, I am hoping it might be a drake and it could be a mate for her.
This one that came out was from 6 H eggs rhat I had bought from Ebay.
Will explain more again. Jill is fine, I am glad it is all over for her now as she was only eating spaghetti hoops and would not eat her duck pellets, but at least she had something.

    Best Wishes
    Lorna
