    Hi,

I just wondered if anyone could help me.

I let my ducks out of the pen this morning, and one was incredibly unsteady on her legs when waddling - she had to use her out-stretched wings to help her stay upright. I have now put her into a smaller, more restricted pen, where she has eaten and has been drinking.

If she is just sitting there, she is steady and sitting upright. She is also still VERY vocal and grumpy! but looks fine

Does anyone know what could be wrong with her? I cant see anything obvious..........

Any advice would be gratefully received!!!!!

May be a deficiency but don't know why only one would be affected, the other thing to check is if she has had access to any poisonous plants, she may be the only one who has eaten it.

Probably best to keep her separate and keep an eye on the others. If any more show symptoms check the area for plants. Are they wormed etc as some worms can migrate to the brain which give neurological symptoms including unsteady gait.

    Sorry can't be more helpful.

    Sallie.

  3. Hi featheredfriend1978,
Welcome to the farmingfriends forum. I am sorry to hear that one of your ducks is unwell and hope that she is now feeling better.
Is your duck crop bound at all as I have a crop bound hen who needs to use her wings to steady herself when she is moving about.
I have just got back from Spain so will have a look at all my books in the next few days and leave a comment if I find anything with similar symptoms.
Hope your duck gets better soon.
    kind regards
