Hi there.. as usual I am after some advice! We have a speckled maran who has recently started making strange noises whilst stretching her neck twisting it to one side, and also opening her beach wider than normal. The noise sounds more like a crow and lasts a few seconds each time. She is eating and drinking fine, and shows no other signs of ill health. They have all recently been wormed too.
Any ideas what could be causing this change in noise? I think it started a month or so ago but just seems more frequent now.
    Many thanks Karen x

Me again.. we have been doing some more research and think possibly our chicken may have gape worm. Has anyone else experienced this with hens, and what did they treat it with. I have started a seperate message about Flubenvet to see if someone can advise on a supplier in Ireland as we are having no luck so far, but would appreciate any other suggestions?
    thanks

    Hiya. Thanks Mama..
We have the verm x and have used it recently, but have been advised by many people that the Flubenvet is more effective, particularly with a chicken that has the gape worm. we have emailed a large poultry supplier north of the country to see if they can advise anyone, as they only supply the verm x too. Fingers crossed someone knows someone who can help!!! Karen
