    Hi everyone
Im taking delivery of my new plastic coop tomorrow, its come much quicker than expected. After a recent infestation of mites we had to burn the old wooden one and i would like to put the new one in roughly same area. My hubby has gone away for 10days with work and cant be contacted. My girls are being fostered at the moment and i dearly want them back asap... So im looking for any suggestions on the best way to prepare the ground for the coop. Do i need to treat the ground as we had mites? ive put powder down, but its rained. Should i put slabs down for the coop to sit on?.. grrr help!

  2. Hi Rhonda,
Yes I would consider slabs then nothing can get under the hut and also it will make cleaning easier.
Good luck with getting set up and glad you are getting your hens back soon.

  4. Hi Rhonda,
Definately slab under the run otherwise rats can burrow under, especially if the pen doesn't have a solid base.
