questions on fetilising of the quails eggs ?

    just wondering are the quails eggs fetilised before they are laid or after as im not to sure on the process ? x

  2. Hi becky,
    they are fertilised before the egg if laid. the quail will have a number of eggs at various sizes within her system.

    thanks sara was rather confused the second egg isnt fertilised as unluckily it was knocked so it broke revealing a yok x

    I thought all eggs will have a yolk as that is what a baby inside feeds on as they grow in shell (or is that just ducks?)

    I thought you could only tell in fertile once you incubate them for 7 days :) I'm not sure with quails I just assumed all eggs do the same type of thing
