HI everyone, hope everyone is well!
i have two ducks and a drake, and thinking about getting chickens again.
i've done some reading, and it seems it can be done.. Does anyone here keep them together?
i'd be getting them as chicks and raising them, then introduce them when they are older, i would also have them in a separate enclosure at night then free range together during the day.. is this possible? would they hurt/fight each other?
if it's worth a shot, what age do you guys reckon i should introduce the chickens to the ducks? any pointers on how to do this?
Thankyou in advance for any information you can give! xx

    Hi

I have six ducks and four chickens which all live happily together free range during the day and in separate sleeping areas at night this is because the chickens roost at night.

I had the chickens first and introduce the ducks although I don't think it matters which way round you get them.

I also have two pairs of call ducks in separate pens, what started has a hobby is slowly taking over but I love them all.
    Hope this helps

I had my chickens and ducks all together, they were fine, except the once incident...but apart from that, all good

  6. I have both ducks and chickens in the same house and free range together. The chickens sleep on their perches and the ducks sleep at the bottom so there hasnt been any troubles.
Only thing to be careful of is if you get a cockerel, it might, fight with the drake. But saying that, I have 3 drakes and 1 cockerel in the same hut and so far, no problems as they both have enough females to themselves so they just get on their lives together.
    Good luck!
P.S i have also been to other poultry farms where I bought my ducks from and them too also had their chickens together :)
