Hi All,
new to keeping Guineas and have 2 keets that hatched 3 weeks ago. Happy healthy and very active but I am interested to know what if any worming regime is recommended for Guineas.
thanks in advance

Hi rj
I have 2 guineas but must say have never wormed them! I don't worm my hens either but I think I may start to. Guineas to me are more a wilder type species & they certainly don't get wormed on the plains in South Africa but I'm probably totally wrong!!
Sara would be the one who would know. I'm sure she'll reply soon.

Hi rj,
I believe that guinea fowl can suffer from worms and I think gape worm as they free range and eat grass and insects from the ground.
I have wormed my guinea fowl with an organic wormer called vermx, but I don't do this all the time and I find my guinea fowl are very hardy. It is good if they have fresh ground to range on, so they are less likely to pick up parasites.
Found this link http://www.poultry.allotment.org.uk/Chicken_a/guinea-fowl/keeping-guinea-fowl.php
Hope your guinea fowl are ok.
Kind regards

Hi Yanky,
Thanks for your reply. I am a complete novice so had wondered what was suitable. It sounds like Guineas are quite happy without any outside input.
best regards
Robert
