    Hi everyone.

one of our chickens' wattle and comb seems to have faded to pink in colour, and also seems to be shrinking in size. She seems ok in herself and isn't moulting so I have no clue what this could be about. Can anyone help?
    thanks

I know they do change colour quite drastically, my little Magnums sometimes went a really deep purple! But paler can mean she is maybe going off lay, or about to moult. Hope someone else can help better than me!

    Hello Karen,

I read your post earler and I thought that maybe she was going to go into moult as well, but as I do not own hens was not too sure. Would there be any chance she could have got red mite? as I beleive it can cause pale combs, hope she is OK soon.

    Best Wishes

Hi Karen, hoepfully it is because she has stopped laying and will moult soon. As Lorna says could also be mites but think you will have already checked. Mama

    Hiya.

Thanks for all the responses. I didn't know that could happen if they were going into moult, and as one of the hens are laying eggs with weaker shells at the moment it could be her. We will check again for mites just incase some have sneaked past us!
    will let you know...
