New Pools For Ducks

(12 posts)

  1. Hi All,
For ages I have been looking for shell shaped pools for my ducks. The supermarkets in my area have not had them in stock. I went to my friend's house yesterday and she didn't want here sandpits anymore so my ducks now have them as their new pools!

Here they are this morning (Sat 12th Sept) enjoying the water of their new pools for the first time.

I am delighted that the ducks have taken to their new pools like a duck to water!!!!
Hope you are all having a great weekend.
    Kind regards

Your pictures are excellent!!!! I love the way you have caught all the splashing. I'm always tempted to get ours more little pools to play in, I even found a square dustbin lid for them to drink from (and inevitably stand in). When I see large swimming pools for sale I've stopped thinking "My son would love that", more "My ducks would love that"!!
Yes, having a good weekend, just had a v. nice bottle of wine!

    Hi Sara,
Your ducks look like they are loving the water. I've just been out to fill my pools, my impatient ducks can't even wait until I've finished filling them before they jump in and needless to say they drench me in the process!
Looks like another nice day here, it's just a shame the nice weather is here now the kids are back at school!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

  4. Hi All,
Glad you like the action photos Rachel. Yes Lisa, my ducks did love their first dip in their new pools.
One of my ducks is spending abit more time on her own. I have found her a few times today sitting on her own. I think it is because she is smaller than some of the other ducks and Francis pays her alot of attention!
    Best wishes

  5. Hi all,

Got this email from Kim re paddling pools for ducks.
"i am looking for a paddling pool for my ducks.. one that is easier to clean then a childs wadding pool there must be something out there that you can drain clean and refill...Kim"

As you can see from the photos above my ducks love the shell shaped hard plastic paddling pools which are easy to fill. I just tip the water out and refill every few days.
What would the rest of you recommend?

    Thanks
