    Hey guys

Just thought i share a "blog" like update form Lil barn farm, so the newbee Pygmy Hedgehog arrived last night hes so cute, theres a photo on my earlier thread hes called Lord Pablo Escobar!

But along with with Pablo i gave ahome to a two week old Alsbury duckling - Mellow, a friend incubated but just got one duckling and thought it would be better to come live with me and my quackers i thought she was going to keep him longer but hes a trouble maker(i say he we dont know yet) He loves human company and screams when you leave the room, yes'day i found him in my 2yr old daughters bedroom, with her happily playing in the dolls house, He just has to be sat on someones foot!

Ive had to put a stair gate on the kitchen and attempt to keep it in there! its not working hes sat on the sofa with me watching Micheal Buble nom nom!

Im going to start introducing him to the flock but as its so flipping cold i dont really want to take it out for too long.

Think of me wont you, sleepless nights with the noisiest baby EVA!

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck then it could be a cow doing a duck impersonation.

    Hi crazy chick
You could try giving the baby a toy to cuddle up to. I reared one duckling on her own and she would have yapped a bit when you put light out and left her but if she had her toy she was fine. You are right It is too cold to put a duckling out now. I suggest you keep her/him inside in a brooder under a heat lamp for another few weeks till it is older. Maybe someone else here would have a suggestion. Ducklings do make a mess put at least if they were inside something it woudl make things easier. I used a very large box lined with plastic and newpapers and shavings which needed cleaned out everyday.

    Best wishes
    Lorna
