Broody Ducks

    Hello all new here.
    How do you tell if you have a broody duck is it the same as a hen?

    I dont have hens just ducks, if you have a broody duck she will simply refuse to leave the egg or eggs if you havnt been collecting them daily
    what ducks do you have ? and do you want ducklings ?

    Yes derek it's just the same. She'll sit tight. Only difference really is that she sits for 28 ish days (depends on the breed of duck) not 21.

    Would love to hatch some of my duck eggs but cannot afford an incubator is it possible that someone would have a broody duck and we could share the hatchlings and would a chicken do just the same?

    i was just think the same ..iv just put a drake in with my 5 girl ducks..if one off them starts to sit what shall i do..

  6. Gary its up to you what you do if one begins to sit, if you want ducklings you leave her to it, if you don't want ducklings you move her and remove the eggs x
