Introducing a new Cockerall

    Some of you may remember the trouble i had with my cockerall last summer but i have decided to get another one for my hens.I may have him within a week as I am going to a poultry auction at the weekend. what method should i use to introduce him to the girls.

    Oh heck ,lol yes we all Remember the bad guy .I would just put them together as the hens havent' had a boy for a while .They may or may not enjoy but he will and sure all will go well.Good for the hens and you Wolf and if he starts you are well prepared this time and no messing !!!!.Mama

    I'm new so don't know the problems you had before.

    I usually introduce new birds at night. Chickens have quite a good sense of smell, by the morning they have often got used to each other. But I've never had a problem introducing new Cockerals, they usually introduce themselves.

    I'm sure it will all go well. What breeds are you keeping?

    Hi. i only keep Cream crested legbars, i have been offered other cockeralls but only want the same breed as my hens.
