Im new to this! I need some help! I have some female Japanese and Italian quail, along with a load of chicks!
My Italian were laying when I bought them about 4 weeks ago and laid for about a week and them stopped. I thought they may be cold so brought them into the shed where i have the chicks which is very warm and cosy, with the light on for a good 12 hours a day. They are still refusing to lay! I also have 3, 9 weeks old ladies in there who havent even started yet!
What am I doing wrong?
Why won't my females lay?(3 posts)
Hi Sarah have to say I only keep ducks but from everything ive ever read on here says they need at least 14 hours of light to lay, maybe advice given to others in these links may help alsomo x
Thank you very much, I will have to try 14 hours from tonight! Roll on the light nights!
