    Hi everyone,
my free range chickens seem to be laying metallic tasting eggs?
this is only recent, and I've never had this problem before.
their diet hasn't changed. Has anyone experienced this before? or know why its happening?

  2. hi I've never heard of this so did a google search as you propbably already have and it came up with lots of different theorys from medication in the hens ie worming,
what kind of pan you cook them in,
    how you clean them
to something to do with your own health and taste buds,
not very helpful really but some things to think about
maybe someone else has had this happen to them and found the reason, I hope so lol

Hi there.. sorry but I haven't had this problem with our eggs either. If you haven't changed your layers pellets then as Mo suggested, it could be something simple from after you have collected them.

    sorry I can't help!!

This might turn out to be a good thing.

I suggest you keep a sharp eye on the colour of the shell & if they turn golden......... you're onto a winner! LOL! :)

Sorry about that, my hair trigger sense of humour got the better of me for a moment!
