   My drake has become very VERY heavy handed. earlier this year he caused one of my ducks to go blind in one eye, and now he has caused my other ducks eye to become swollen and it look very sore. Any advice is needed urgently as she isnt happy and i am very worried about her

   Hi Ani,
   I am sorry to hear that about your drake, my advic would be to get her away from him. Can you put her in with other ducks only and maybe put him in a drakes only pen. I have had to seperate an apricot call duck and put her in with older ones as she was getting smialr treatment from 2 drakes, thanfully she is OK witht the ducks only.

   I do not know if you have any others but getting more females can help. Hope things resolve for you soon.

   Ps Your Vet could tell you best what to put in the eye incase of infection.

   I know it isn't always easy and that you are desperate for ducklings but please seperate the drakes from any female ducks until September or October when his urges will calm down, I currently have 2 groups of ducks one group is 6 girls the other 2 drakes both groups are happy and content for the most part, only this past week one member has had 2 ducks drowned she believes by her drake,they can all go together again for the winter

   seeing as we only have 2 ducks and a drake, this may be hard, but we are hoping to get some more soon. but we will seperate him ASAP! thank you for all your help!!
