Hi All,
I have been asked on my farmingfriends facebook page,
"how do wild ducks cope with the snow?"
My response was,
"Hi Ben, Thanks for your question. I think some duck breeds are hardier in colder weather and I imagine that wild ducks have been bred so they can with stand certain climates. When I have got my domestic ducks out in the snow I have noticed that they headed for areas under conifers where there is less snow and they can forage for food. I imagine ... See Morethat wild ducks find areas where there is alot of undergrowth or hedgerows and they gather there for warmth and food. If the snow doesn't affect ponds and lakes too much then I imagine the ducks will spend time on the water as well. I will add this question to my forum and see what other members think. Thanks again. Do you have ducks?
Kind regards
