Hello. I had a trio of runner ducks. they were kept with my 2 geese and 12 hens. We found one duck with a broken leg but didn't know why and it had to be put to sleep. A week or so later we found the 2 geese attacking the other duck, and after that it just couldn't walk, or use it's wings or generally move around, so separated it, but it died about a week later. So we thought the geese had broken it's back. Anyway obviously we moved the geese. So the remaining duck was on it's own for about 6 weeks but then over the last couple of days it started to look off colour. When I went out this morning it was sat on the floor and couldn't walk! It tried to use it's wings but only to drag itself along. Exactly the same symptoms as the last duck which we thought the geese had damaged. So now I have no idea. I've moved it from the hens and put it with food and water under a heat lamp. It can hold it's head up but not use it's legs or wings?? Does anyone have any ideas? It feels a healthy weight...

Hi jpm505,
Sorry to hear about your ducks and sorry I'm just replying but have been at a wedding this weekend.
It could be any number of things that has affected your duck and possibly stress as ducks can be affected by stress.
Is it possible to contact your local vet and explain what has happened. They will hopefully be able to tell you if it is a disease or illness.
Have you read about Lisa's duck that wasn't able to stand check out this thread as we all discussed the symptoms you are describing in alot of detail and Lisa took her duck to the vet so this may give you an idea what it could be.
