Hi all,
When pickling (beetroot or eggs) do you boil the vinegar before adding to the ingredients or do you just add the vinegar cold?
I would be interested to hear.

Its best to bring the vinegar to the boil then and to the veg

Thanks for this advise. I usually boil the vinegar with sugar but wondered if the taste would be different if the vinegar went in cold.

Not sure Sara, can't imagine any taste difference. I always boil to kill bacteria which may be a notion I have.The bolied vinager also helps with sealing the jar. Let me know if there is a difference.
