I've heard that it's bad to bury chickens but I've done so without any problems. Can anyone tell me why?

Never heard of this Willa. In fact I read in Francine Raymonds book that it's good to do so as they put goodness into the ground!?

Wasn't this something going about when we had an epidemic of bird flu?

    Hi Willa,
I think you will find it is to do with DEFRA. It is now illegal to bury sheep, cattle and horses without a permit and I expect the same thing applies to chickens. Something to do with possible contamination of water courses etc. Personally I wouldn't worry about it.
    Best wishes
    Sallie.

Nor would I, We buried our dear dog and companion of 16yrs under a cherry tree that he loved and also a chuck that died of old age. Regards Mama.
