Angora rabbits

Hi, I breed Angora rabbits, mine are the larger european type and are used for the fibre they produce. However I realise this is really quite specialised and I struggle to find the right sort of new homes for them. They are suited to people who spin, knit felt etc as 1 rabbit can produce enough fibre to make 1 jumper a year! I was hoping that perhaps the lovely people who frequent this forum could spread the word about for me, they make lovely pets & take up much less space than a sheep!

  2. hi Jeni, I guess that with such beautiful coats they take alot of looking after,
have to tell, that when i was in my teens ( along time ago ) I had an angora jumper that I trully loved, one day my dad bless him, decided to do the washing, and yes when it came out it would have fit a Cindy doll, I was gutted

Ha! Ha! What a shame, perhaps you could knit yourself a new one!
The bunnies don't take too much looking after, I cut their coats 3 times a year, I keep them on barley straw, & give them lots of room to play outdoors during the good weather, they are very beautiful.
