Guinea Fowl Eggs Starting To Hatch

On Monday I took the automatic egg turner out of the incubator so that when the guinea fowl keets hatch out they will not have to struggle with a plastic egg turner as well as the hard shell of the guinea egg!

Got up this morning and opened the door to the sound of cheeping. At first I wondered if it was the door creaking but when I pressed my nose to the incubator window I could see that some of the eggs had already started to crack. None of the chicks have hatched out yet but by my reckoning it won’t be long!

As we speak my husband is setting up the camcorder so that we can try to capture the hatching out on video. Keep your fingers crossed for a successful hatch and a successful filming. I’ll keep you posted as the events in the incubator change.
