Pigs Can’t Eat Parsnips
Pigs should not be fed parsnips as they give them blisters in and around their mouths.
“Parsnip tops contains substances (furocoumarins) which , in contact with bare skin, enhance the skin’s sensitivity to the ultra violet rays in direct sunlight. The affected skin becomes red and inflamed and then develops blisters and extensive angry looking skin erosions.” The pigsite.com
If anyone has any experience of parsnips giving pigs blisters then please leave a comment.
