Quail Are Sensitive To Red Clothing
Did you know that quail are sensitive to red clothing? Everytime I wear a red top and happen to go into the quail barn or aviary then the quail get spooked and start flying about. Quail also have a vertical flight when spooked which means that they fly upwards. This can be dangerous as the quail can bang their heads on the roof of the hut and injure themselves. If I walk past the aviary and I am wearing red clothing then they will start to fly around in an agitated way.
This has happened on a number of occasions but never happens when I am wearing my dark blue overalls so red clothing needs to be avoided when working with or near to quail.
