Hi Michelle,
Glad you found the information useful. My guinea fowl generally lay after lunch from 1pm although the odd one will lay in the morning especially if they are mixing with hens and ducks as they copy behaviour.

The males like to lay in the sun or dust bathe and also sit around and wait whilst the guinea hen is sitting and laying her eggs. The males stand guard, which is a lovely thought.

If you have found a place where your guinea fowl hen is laying then I would keep an old egg there so that they continue to lay there otherwise if ytou are taking the eggs away they will eventually stop laying there and find another nest site.

Hope this helps.

Just to let you know that I have set up a free forum with a section on guinea fowl that is quite popular. http://farmingfriends.com/forums/forum.php?id=6

Kind regards

Wow! Great to know! I was wondering what was up with my female guinea. I thought she may be a "dud" b/c she kept going to sit in her nest but not laying. I'd check when she got up and found no eggs...but I disturbed the site :S

I also have recently seen the males laying in the yard.

She has started laying in the evening (I thought they laid before 3 pm generally) of the chicken tractor where they roost. As long as the chickens don't follow suit, I'm good with this location. Now I hope she will actually go broody at some point. It would be fun to have some keets :)
