Week Old Piglets
The Saddleback piglets are just over a week old now. They are all doing very well. Lacy has nine piglets and Cagney has six. The six are growing well and getting stronger. The nine piglets are a little smaller at the moment as there are more of them to take the milk. All the piglets are very inquisitive, they like to nibble on your welly and they have now started to sample their mother’s food as well as suckle milk. I have started to add a little creep feed for the piglets to nibble on. I have also started to turn the lamp off during the day so that the piglets can harden off. Their days are generally spent sleeping, feeding and running about – what a life!
