Wisteria Flowers At Last

The farm has had a wisteria climbing up the side of one of the cattle barns for over 20 years and as long as my husband can remember it has never flowered. This may have something to do with the fact that the farmers have chopped it down to the ground every couple of years, so that the air vents to the cattle barn do not get blocked up.

Anyway the other day I was in the vegetable garden and to my surprise and disbelief, I saw a couple of beautiful trailing flower heads on the wisteria. After 20 odd years the wisteria has finally flowered. I am sure that my husband’s Grandma will have planted the wisteria, so I dedicate this article to her memory.
